There is a painless “separation” medical procedure with no physical side effects that completely separates your work from your non-work memories (e.g., once you go to work, you have a new self that exists only within the boundaries of the office, and once you leave the office, you have no memories of what happened at work). From your out-of-work self's perspective, your workday ends in a second. From your work self’s perspective, they only live within the office and have no memories of their life outside of work – present or past. All worker protections by law apply to your working self as a normal job. Your out-of-work self can decide to quit at any time; your work self, however, cannot. Both selves know the other one exists but have no other knowledge of each other - information exchange between your two selves is prohibited and virtually impossible.
